Melawares and Urban Kitchen Present Mommy and Me
Last May 9, 2015, Melawares and Urban Kitchen presented Mommy and Me, a kickoff of its mall tour that is dedicated in honoring mothers. This event was launched at the SM Southmall in time for the celebration of Mother’s Day. It was an event of fun-filled activities for moms and kids.
Upon registration from the entrance, families lined up to have their picture taken at the photobooth courtesy of Aliyah Smile. Some of the children flocked to the Design Your Own Plate station while others had their faces painted with their favorite characters. The little girls went to another station to have their own nail art.
The program started with an introduction from the lovely Issa Litton. She gave an overview of Melawares and Urban Kitchen products.
After that, Carla Perlas, Regional Editor-in-Chief of The Asian Parent, a popular digital parenting magazine, talked about online rakets that mommies can take on. Being a WAHM myself, I appreciate Carla’s presentation and actually learned more from it.
Next to that was a contest for making the most creative baon using the Disney-themed cookie cutters and the high quality melamine tableware of Melawares plus the modern and stylish tableware of Urban Kitchen. My fellow blogger from the Mommy Bloggers Philippines network, Mommy Lariza Garcia of the Mom’s World of Arts and Happiness won the contest! Just look at her plate below and you’ll see why 🙂
Chef Arabella Padilla, a pastry chef and Kitchen Superstar finalist, showed us how to make Oreo Cheesecake Cookies and a drink called Sweet Surrender. These were easy to follow recipes which make use of a few ingredients. Perfect for busy mommies! Chef Arabella said that she used 1:1 proportions during the demo so mommies would easily memorize the ingredients and steps without having to write it down. I have tasted her cookies and I loved it. I will make some soon and I’m sure that the kids will love them.
In between the activities mentioned above, exciting prizes were given away in a series of raffles. A lot of moms won either the Melawares Starter Set or the Urban Kitchen’s Pitcher and Tumbler Set. My Mom, whom I invited to come with me to the event, and I didn’t won anything from the raffle. By the way, my Mom has been a loyal and proud owner of Melawares tableware for almost two decades. We got excited when the winner of the Elba Microwave Oven was being announced as Issa was keeping everyone at the edge of their seats by gradually revealing the identity of the winner. The lucky winner of that most coveted kitchen appliance is….not me. A giddy mommy carrying her son, rushed to the stage to claim her prize. I was not able to take note of her name for I started to fall into envy (exxag!).
Also, during the event, Melawares and Urban Kitchen had a special 10% discount for all of their products.
