Pee Wee

My baby is now 31 weeks and 1 day old. He’s growing bigger and heavier. As he does that, my uterus expands too and I can feel the pressure on my bladder. As a result, I need to make frequent trips to the bathroom even if I try to drink less liquid.

That’s a real hassle especially when we’re out but I take it as a good sign. It only means that our child is growing perfectly inside my womb. And because he’s really growing, he moves less frequently as he used to. He has less space to do his somersaults. I initially panicked about not feeling his movement first thing this morning. I’ve been praying, playing music and audio books just to feel his kicks again. When I got to the office, I opened my email and read babycenter.ph’s weekly update and I have learned that since he is already approximately 41cm and 1.5kg already, he’s running out of space in my womb. Hubby and I are quite relieved! God is indeed taking care of our precious angel as he takes time to grow and develop inside my womb. That really made my day! πŸ™‚

Happy Monday everyone!!!

Random Thursday: Star Stamp

Finally, I was able to try out carving from an eraser! I’ve made a star stamp for starters πŸ™‚ Actually, I wanted to create my name stamp but I have yet to perfect the letter g so I had to put it off and opt for a simple pattern. I’ve made several star sketches until I’m satisfied. I cut it out to make a stencil and placed it on top of a small eraser that came with the compass that I bought last week. I was really happy with my output πŸ˜€ I will make more stamps as soon as I get a hold of the right tools which I have asked my Secret Santa to give me on Dec 14 πŸ™‚

Simple Pleasures: Iced Milo

The cost of living might be too high these days but our happiness need not depend on how much we can afford to spend on. We must learn how to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. It could be something random, common, or shallow that can make you smile and bring joy to your heart. I’ve had the chance to experience that moment this afternoon.

My happiness came in my beat up tumbler. It was filled with office-sponsored Milo, a part of my boss’s Cowhead fresh milk and a few ice cubes from my seatmate. I chilled it for a while to make it more enticng to my palate. In a few more minutes, I was able to enjoy my my Milo which reminded me of my childhood days πŸ™‚ It made the rest of the afternoon relaxing and more enjoyable.

What Makes You Beautiful

For some reason, I’ve been on LSS with One Direction’s What Makes You Beautiful. My husband would often catch me singing “Baby you light up my world like nobody else.”Β I also find it amusing to hear my 6-year old niece sing this song.

Sunday’s Best: Pork Stew with Peanut Sauce

I’ve found a recipe at Yummy.ph and thought that I could make my own version. Instead of using chicken, I used pork. I also substituted carrots with potatoes. I did not use ground rice but mixed in peanut butter and ground peanuts instead. Glad that my output turned out to be a success πŸ™‚ Hubby enjoyed eating it and said that we should have it again for dimner tonight. I felt redeemed from my failed Sarsiadong Tilapia yesterday πŸ˜‰

Courtesy for Pedestrians

November 19, 2012 No Comments

Drivers here are in the Philippines ranked low when in comes to pedestrian courtesy. That’s true for for those who drive public or private vehicles regardless of the location.

Case in point: I am 7 months pregnant (which makes my big tummy very hard not to notice) and I just crossed the intersection from the Mind Museum to the parking lot. The pedestrian crossing started its countdown but 5 vehicles, big and small, private and public still made their way on my path and did not allow me to cross even if the light clearly indicated that it’s my time to do so. I just shook my head in disapproval. Imagine that I am already in BGC with plenty of traffic lights and yet drivers still do not have the courtesy for pedestrians crossing the street!! Paano na lang ang mga matatanda at batang tumatawid?!

This experience reminded me of our short trip to Singapore. Drivers in that country really have concern for pedestrians. The moment you step on the pedxing, they would automatically stop. They would do that at any time. They may be driving a Lamborghini or a bus, but they would always let you pass. I wish it’s the same here *sigh*

It’s Sunny Again!

In my previous post, I have let out the frustration that I felt with my task yesterday. By the end of it, I said that I would look for inspiring and creative sites to cheer myself up. I did found some when I Googled the keyword fashionably pregnant and came across these lovely websites:

Skinny mini Kiki

Baby Space: The Bump

A Lovely Lark

As a soon-to-be-Mommy, I was really delighted to visit these webistes. They are eye candies for me. The women behind these sites are young mothers themselves who simply adore their children. I wish I can be as passionate Β and creative like them πŸ™‚

Let It Out

Last night, while driving on our way home, hubby Β told me about a minor glitch in his workplace. He said that it’s tough to do difficult tasks that a teammate can’t execute while managing his own workload. I cheered him up and told him that it only means that he’s really good at what he’s doing that he could take on other people’s task. He argued that it’s not easy because he is working on two different platforms and that it’s hard to shift each time.

Today, at work, I have a new responsibility and part of that is to manage social media accounts which were previously handled by a colleague. I don’t mind taking on hand-me-downs but the ones that I got this time are really messy. Though I appreciate that my boss trusts me completely in doing whatever I want with my new project, I still feel frustrated that I had to clean-up a lot of areas.Β Hay!

Now, I know how you feel, Honey!

I need to get this off my mind. My baby can feel the stress already. I’ll just browse/read on a few inspiring, happy and creative blog sites before I resume with the clean up. That would make my mood sunny again!
