Merry Christmas! I hope everyone had a blast spending this wonderful season with their loved ones. We are blessed to have a better technology at this time making celebrations online when our dearest cannot be with us in person. And speaking of celebrations, what better way to make it more festive than to make your own Christmas decorations! Okay, this may be a little late, but in some parts of the world, Christmas is just about to start. Also, here in our country, we are known to leave Christmas decors hanging until the end of January. Maybe because holiday get-togethers are being made until then.

Need easy-to-make wall decor to bring in more Christmas cheer? Fret no more! You can make one with the things that you already have at home.  I made mine using the tools and materials in the photo below.

• Cutting mat
• Ruler
• Cutter
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Washi tapes
• Color pens (not in the photo)
• Masking tape (not in the photo)
• Cardboard (I used my baby’s empty box of Bibibons)

1. Cut away the excess parts of the box until you only have the 2 big rectangles. Keep the excess parts.

2. Using a ruler, find the center of the rectangle and use it as the tip of your triangle. From that (tip) point, draw a diagonal line to the bottom corner. Do the same on the other side.

3. Cut the resulting triangle using scissors.

4. From the excess parts of the box that you have kept in Step 1, cut a small rectangle which will serve as the tree trunk. Mine is approximately 1/2 inch wide and 2 inches long.

5. Tape the trunk on the back side of your triangle. Now you have a blank Christmas tree.

6. Use Christmas themed washi tapes or those that come in colors included in the Christmas pallette (if there’s anyhthing like that) to bring color to your cardboard tree. I used green washi tape with snowflakes and the one in orange prints for my trees. Both are from Bee Happy Crafts. For the trunk, I colored it using my brown color pen because I don’t have brown washi tape to use on it.

7. You may want to tape the washi diagonally or in any way that you like. Just cut the sides carefully using a cutter.

Here’s my final output taped on our living room wall. I used the cardboard Christmas trees to cover the ends of my Merry Christmas banner. Where are you going to use yours?
