This is my son’s Christmas craft. It was originally part of an activity at last Sunday’s Kids Church. As part of our crafting at home, I asked him to put googly eyes, add cotton on its wings and paint the angel. I only taught him how to glue the cotton balls then he did the rest.

The output wasn’t perfect but I’m posting a photo of it here. He made an effort to do it and smiled proudly when he showed it to me. I commended him for his work. I have added the angel as an ornament on our Christmas tree.

I used to get stressed when he can’t color or paint properly. Lately, I have realized that the mess, the smudge, using an unusual hue are all part of the learning process. They, in fact, contribute to my child’s emerging creativity. I wouldn’t stifle that!
