For the Love of Books: Our BBW Manila 2020 Book Haul

For the love of books, and not wanting to miss the great selection of books at amazing discounts, we made a last minute decision to go to this year’s Big Bad Wolf Book Sale (#BBWManila) at The World Trade Center in Pasay City. Our kids were more than thrilled and jumped for joy, literally, when my husband and I told them to dress up and get ready for Big Bad Wolf. We left at 12:30am, Sunday, and was inside the BBW Manila premises at 1:30am. As a safety precaution from the NCov, all of us were wearing masks, jackets, and pants. It’s a good thing that the BBW team were taking safety measures, too. At the entrance of the building, the security group, checked the body temperature and sprayed the hands (with alcohol) before allowing people to enter the halls.

We got there at a good time because there aren’t that many people scouring the tables and filling their trolleys with books. There were also plenty of plenty who have already finished their shopping and going out of the building. Inside, there were families like us who brought their little ones along, and even saw a mom cradling her infant while browsing at the books. Majority of us were wearing masks while others didn’t bother to cover at all. Our family have implemented the strategy that we have used in the previous years at BBW, so we already knew which sections to go to and be out of the premises as soon as possible. My husband also had strict orders not to buy the type of books that we got last year that we were not able to maximize. We have also briefed the kids, while still in the car, about what to buy, and how the four of us will partner up when they feel tired and sleepy. We got what we needed and wanted except for that Curious George Workbook for 6-7 . We were not able to find it though we spent much time looking for it and even asked for assistance from the BBW staff. Without further ado, below is our BBW Manila 2020 book haul!
